Measuring Windows
Measuring for draperies and
drapery panels width:
Measure the total width to be covered. If only the window is
to be covered, add 1/4" on each side for overlap. Next, let us
know how much fullness is desired (1.5 to 2.0 is standard). Divide
this number by the number of panels desired to cover the window.
Height:
Finished height is the measurement from the top of the treatment
to the bottom of the treatment including tabs, ties, rings or rod
pockets on panels. Typically a drapery panel is installed 4" above
the window opening or near the ceiling. This dimension must be
included in your final height dimension. Full length treatments
are typically ordered 1/2" above the floor. Shorter treatments
usually hang 4" below the sill.
